  1. Tobacco Road Sports Bar hosted a forum for Wake County sheriff candidates on Wednesday. The nine candidates got the opportunity to voice their stances on some hot topics such as police accountability, gun permits, and the evolution of policing following the events of 2020. Current Sheriff Gerald Baker was missing from attendance, and sent a representative to listen instead. Former Sheriff Donnie Harrison who lost to Baker was in attendance and highlighted his experience in his responses. Candidate filing will officially begin on December 6th. (abc11)
  2. Raleigh Police Officers have made three arrests in connection with the September 7 shooting and death of Jewel Dadzie. On Tuesday, RPD announced that Kyle Leonuse Brown, Richard William Jefferson, and Dezmond Armond Harper Jr. have all been charged with murder in the shooting on Sumter Ridge Lane Place. They are currently being held at Wake County Detention Center. (WRAL)
  3. Rush hour travelers going south on Capital Boulevard in North Raleigh had to be diverted Wednesday evening after a septic truck overturned. The crash was caused when driver of the septic truck was forced to make a defensive maneuver in response to a car cutting in front of him. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and Police stated that he was not at fault for the wreck. (CBS17)
  4. A student at Shaw University was shocked to find that he had been removed from all his classes due to his vaccination status. The University warned students that they must be vaccinated before enrolling in the fall semester and Roosevelt Conyers did anticipate being dropped from the in-person classes he had been attending. He believed that regardless of his vaccination status, virtual learning would be an option, but on Wednesday he discovered his removal from all classes. (abc11)
  5. During a Tuesday City Council meeting, officials stated that they would continue requiring face masks in all public and private indoor settings until the rate of positive COVID-19 tests drops below 5%. (WRAL) With that benchmark, Raleigh may have to wait a while. The 27610 zip code now has the highest number of positive cases anywhere in North Carolina. (INDY Week) With these COVID-19 statistics, Duke Energy Center has released new COVID-19 policies that will require a negative test or proof of vaccination as well as masks for everyone across its many venues.
