Men's basketball needs to be more like football. WAY too many teams in the tourney, many small schools that shouldn't even be there beating teams from power conferences. We need a model like college football - a big "super league" that you have to buy your way in and let the "little schools" play another tournament.

I mean, who wants to see Kentucky lose to Oakland? I bet Oakland doesn't have any NIL money. Or Duquesne beat a power school like BYU? Kansas barely beat Samford. And that is just the first day.

Much better to emulate football. Let the money decide, not the players!

Full disclosure. Anyone who takes any of my posts seriously does so at their own risk, and neither I or 247 is responsible in any way for any consequences that might occan.

If we followed the college football model Kentucky would have got a bye because they have more fans. This nonsense about proving stuff on the court instead of being given advantages because of your history and fan size needs to be investigated.

LOL. We were already here - we got our allotment before 1900.
I can remember the sooners coming in early and taking the best claims. I was little then, of course.

Yes, the Presidents of these small schools need to be indicted, sued and convicted in the media for doing stuff we don't agree with!

It’s called a tournament ,single elimination , when it starts, everyone is equal. Win you move on, lose you go home. Why complain about something that most folks like to watch and follow.

Is it all a dream to remember making the NCAA tournament? To winning a couple of tournament match ups? Memory is so foggy.

It’s amazing how slow college football is to learn. College basketball has cornered the bracket/playoff model for over a half a century and still going strong. Football is WAY late to the party.

    Sure.

Like it's the same path to being competitive by acquiring 5 good BB players or getting 60 good FB players . .

What's wrong with college basketball is, we can't even organize a basketball search committee to hire a good coach.

At this point, just hire Buzz Williams or Doug Gottlieb, and get this search over with. The 2024-2025 basketball season is going to be a mess.
