PowerSchool Grade Portal Overview

Glastonbury Public School's PowerSchool Grade Portal is available for students in grades 6-12 and their parents and guardians. The purpose of this tool is to improve communication between students, teachers, and parents. It is a confidential, web-based application that allows students and parents to view current and historical grades as well as class assignments and attendance. Glastonbury High School, Smith Middle School, and Gideon Welles School also use the PowerSchool Grade Portal for the student course selection process.

New for 2023-2024 School Year

Parents and guardians of students in grades K-5 will have online access to elementary report cards through PowerSchool .

Accessing PowerSchool

Account creation information is emailed to parents and students. Parents of incoming sixth grade students who attend Glastonbury elementary schools will receive Parent Account setup information during the Spring of fifth grade. In the Fall, Student login information is emailed to parents of sixth grade students.

Parents and students access the Grade Portal from the same login screen, but use different login credentials. Students are able to access the site immediately with their district assigned student credentials. Parents and guardians must create a Parent Account prior to accessing the Grade Portal for the first time.

The Parent Account allows for selection of a personalized Username and Password and the ability to view grades for all students in the same household. Separate Parent Accounts may be set up for each parent/guardian.

When you receive the email with PowerSchool Grade Portal setup credentials and instructions for setting up your Parent Account, click the following link https://gpsct.powerschool.com. This will take you to the Student and Parent Sign In screen. You may wish to add this link to your "favorites" on your home computer for quick access to the sign in screen in the future.

You may also wish to add the PowerSchool App to your devices for accessing current grades for students in grades 6-12. Please see the information to the right.

Note: Report cards are only available in the PowerSchool website portal, not on the App.

Tips and Reminders (for grades 6-12)

  • Blue text are hyperlinks — click on them for more information.

  • Please be patient while waiting for grades to be entered. While grading guidelines suggest that grades be updated weekly for homework, every 2 weeks for tests and quizzes, and as soon as possible for projects, teachers are only required to enter grades at mid-quarter and at the end of the quarter.

  • Teachers use different grading systems (such as weighted percentages) that may not be explained on the screen you are viewing. Be sure to check teacher websites for grading policies.

  • To promote student independence and self-advocacy, initial contact with teachers to discuss questions or concerns should always come from the student.
