Foorin is a music unit made up of elementary school children with music and lyrics produced entirely by Kenshi Yonezu. Their new single Paprika was released on August 15, 2018 with regular and limited editions. Paprika was written by Yonezu as part of the NHK 2020 Song Project which was set up to cheer on everybody in the run up to 2020 and beyond. The song is also being used for NHK's TV and radio program Minna no Uta for August and September. Foorin was chosen for this project through an audition process. The group is made up of five girls and boys including main vocalists Hyuuga (Elementary Year 6) and Moena (Elementary Year 5), and chorus and dancers Takeru (Elementary Year 6), Ririko (Elementary Year 3) and Chise (Elementary Year 2). Their name comes from the Japanese word Fuurin meaning 'wind chime' which Kenshi Yonezu compared their singing and dancing of Paprika to.
