Is Meg 2 appropriate for a 9 year old? ›

Meg 2: The Trench is an action-adventure, science fiction movie. The movie contains sustained violence and threat from very large, scary creatures and is therefore not suitable for children under 12. Parental guidance is also recommended for children aged 12-13, due to the high level of violence.

The movie ends with the word "Fin", a reference to the title shark in addition to being French for "end." The foreign language version of the song "Mickey" which appeared earlier in the film plays over the credits. The title is the first thing to appear on screen following the opening production company logos.

Very gory for a PG-13 movie.

While The Wall and Lori make some adjustments, Toshi writes a letter to his wife if they ever die. The Wall reassures him and tells him that they will be okay.

M3GAN is a horror, sci-fi movie that shows what could happen if we let Artificial Intelligence take over. The film is very violent and scary and it is therefore not suitable for children under 12. It also isn't recommended for children under 15 and parental guidance is recommended for children aged 15.

But Suyin died sometime in 2021. Although the exact cause of her death was never stated, it is possible that; she had died from illness or perhaps one of her dives had gone wrong. After her passing, Jonas and her brother, Jiuming assume custody of Meiying, looking after her in Suyin's absence.

Jonas manages to wound the beast with his submersible and stabs it in the eye; its blood attracts a shiver of modern sharks that devour the dying meg. As Jonas reunites with the rest of the crew, a passing meg is heard, suggesting that more than two escaped the trench.

There's no doubt that the meg was a true threat in the movie and one that, in many ways, was more intimidating than the shark from Jaws. But one aspect of it that was hard to ignore was how its dangers came from its impact on the world rather than the threat it presented to individuals.
