Eddsworld Oneshots (x Reader!) - Chapter 4 - TheHopper - Eddsworld (2024)

Chapter Text

It was currently raining cats and dogs outside. A storm had rolled in just a few minutes ago and you were not having it. Big storms were never a thing you enjoyed, in fact, you were terrified of them. Ever since you were young, you've been scared to death of them, especially ones accompanied with thunder and lightning. However, this storm seemed to have all of the above, and even worse. You, Matt, Edd, Tom, and Tord were all in the living room with the TV on the news channel. The storm had seemed to escalate in severity at a rapid pace, so Edd called everyone to the living room to keep a close eye on the news channel and weather channel.

"As you can see, the storm has become more severe than we originally thought, possibilities of tornadoes even," the frantic weather man announced.

Your heart dropped at his last few words. As if this stupid storm couldn't get any worse, now there were possibilities of tornadoes. Greaaaaaat. Your anxiety was at it's peak right now. Literally all of your biggest fears were happening all at once. Loud noises, lightning, thunder, pretty much everything. You were huddled up in the single seat living room sofa that was in the right of the room. You had a soft gray blanket covering your entire body with your head peaking out from the top. The rest of the gang were sitting together one the large couch that was parallel to the TV. Matt was in the same position as you were, huddled up in a blanket peaking out the top of it. Tord looked like he couldn't care less. He had his hand holding up his head as if he was trying to stay awake during a boring school class. You never new how he could stand all of this, but then again, he's Tord. Tom was kind of in the same boat as Tord, but at least he showed some concern for what was happening outside. Edd on the other hand, had his eyes glued to the TV screen. Edd was always the responsible one in situations were there was even the slightest chance of someone getting hurt.

As the weather guy continued to ramble about the storm, you saw the lights begin to flicker. Your muscles tense up and you began to breath heavily. Your anxiety began to rise even more. You hated the dark, you were deathly terrified of it. Nightmares as a kid can really scar your brain. You knew no harm would come to you, I mean, Tord had dozens of weaponry in his secret room for god sake. As your anxiety reached another peak, you start to feel tears brimming your eyes. You quickly wipe them away, hoping nobody saw. You never wanted to admit your fear of storms to the gang, as you though it was quite childish. Then again, if you didn't tell them, there was no way they could help you. Tord would probably laugh at you, Matt and Edd would probably comfort you, and Tom...you didn't really know how tom would react. He would probably just walk away from the situation.

As you were lost in your own thoughts, a voice drug you out of your head.

"Y/N, you alright?"

You snapped your head toward the voice and saw that Tom was looking at you with much worry in his "eyes." You readjusted yourself, coming out from behind the blanket and laying on your lap. You exhaled slowly as you try you best to regain composure.

"Yeah, I'm fine," you say, putting on a fake smile to hopefully convince Tom that you were fine when in reality, you were absolutely terrified. Tom slowly nodded, turning his attention back toward the TV screen. You could tell he didn't believe you, he could read you like a book, but he didn't want to force anything out of you.

As the flickering of the lights began to get more consistent, you wanted go get a flashlight just to be prepared. You slowly got up out of the chair, blanket now wrapped around you like a cape, slowly and quietly making your way to the stairs. You didn't want the guys catching you walking away to grab a flashlight, as Tord would probably laugh and call you a big baby. As you very strategically were making your way up the stairs, you slipped on the blanket and fell to the ground of the hardwood stairs. You imminently heard a stampede of footsteps behind you, and you turn to see the whole gang standing behind you. Tord began laughing, and you lowered your head in shame.

"Are you really going to get a flash light because of a little rain," he said in a very condescending manor. The rest of the group looked at him in shock. Tord always acted like this, it didn't really surprise anyone, but the fact that he was being like this to you in the current state you were in was a real shocker.

"Are you for real Tord," Tom growled at him, to which Tord let out a chuckle in reply. You saw as Edd and Matt looked at Tord with disapproving expressions on their faces. You got up from your painful position on the ground, flipped Tord off, and ran to your room.

You began rummaging around the messy room, hoping to find your small personal flashlight you kept in your room if a storm hit while you were sleeping. As you were about to give up and accept the possibility of sleeping in the dark with the storm, you saw it out of the corner of your eye under your bed. You let out a sight of relief, getting down on the floor to reach under your bed, when all of the sudden it goes pitch black. You froze in your tracks, unable to move. You quickly whipped your head around to look at your bedroom door, expecting to see Tord there with his hand on the light switch. However, this was not the case. Instead, you were met with the pitch black hallway.

Fear plagued your mind, and your body began to shake. You started to feel traumatized by the situation. You laid on the ground and squeezed yourself into a little ball with the blanket covering your body. Your breathing began to speed up and tears started brimming your eyes. You cursed at yourself for having such a childish fear and how you let it affect you even when you weren't a kid anymore. The fear began to escalate, which only increased the amount of tears pouring out of your eyes.

"Please please please please please," you sob to yourself, basically begging the storm to go away and for the power to come back on, but you knew it wouldn't happen.

As if on cue, a flashlight was shined on your face, blinding you for a few seconds. Your eyes adjusted to bright light and you saw who was holding the light. It was Tom.

"Y/N? What happened? Are you ok," he asked frantically, running to your quivering side. You cried more. As if instinct kicked in, you lunged toward him and hugged him tightly, not ever wanting to let go.

"I-I'm s-so sc-scared," you say, fear lacing every word as you cried into his shoulder. You could feel Tom soften at your words, returning the hug. He began rubbing soft circles on your back in an attempt to calm you down and slow your frantic breathing.

"It's ok dear, I'm hear, you're safe," he reassured.

You had never expected Tom to be this comforting. If it would be anyone, you would expect it to be Edd, not Tom. Maybe he was drunk? You remembered that did have his canister with him while he was watching the TV, but you never saw him take a sip, so maybe this was the REAL Tom. You began to relax into the embrace the two of you were sharing, cuddling into his chest a bit. You could hear his heartbeat a bit, and you tried to match it with your breathing. You looked up at Tom to see him looking right back at you. You felt yourself leaning in closer, shortening the gap between you two. Tom was leaning in too, and it wasn't long until you felt your lips collide. It was a very soft and sweet kiss. As you pulled away, you looked into his eyes and immediately blushed.

"Thank you, Tom," you say shyly. Tom chuckled.

"Anything for you," he said sweetly, kissing your forehead and rocking you in his arms, humming a toon to send you into a peaceful sleep.
