Turning your hobby into a business can be a bittersweet thing, especially when it comes to the whole dilemma of whether or not you are pricing your products right. There is also this problem of dealing with certain "friends" and relatives that always seem to ask for discounts and forcibly so.

You may have heard of the saying, "Do what you love, and you would never work another day in your life" and you may have tried to live by it at some point in your life. However, there is also this notion that people should keep their hobbies away from their actual job as far as possible so it would never get old and won't spoil the fun.
That being said, when people try to pressure you into doing your hobby, sometimes, it's not really worth doing it anymore, especially when you have more important things to do. When that happens, one must need to do something before things spiral out of control.
A Reddit user under the handle@cakedupp3, however, was called a jerk for doing something to prevent things from getting way out of hand; and the story involves her hobby as a baker, and a relative that wasn't willing to pay her high prices and don't want to have some chain store cake either.
To be fair, she did not even intend to monetize her hobby in the first place and tried to avoid it entirely. However, the people who wanted her to bake their cakes grew in number, and to prevent it from being a full-time thing, she decided to raise her prices so they would deliberately stop "bothering" her.
Indeed, their plan worked, but at the cost of some people's frustration. And by some people, it means some people in their family.
The author has then resorted to posting their story under the r/AmITheAsshole community in Reddit to see if she's the bad guy in the story. Read on to find out if you think she is!

They only like to make it out of fun, but when the peer pressure comes in, the motivation and enjoyment gets all jumbled.
More and more people began to ask the author to make them a cake, but they had to say no because of the lack of time.
However, the "potential" customers did not like this at all.
So they started sending their price structure and told them they were only accepting special requests for commission.

Sure enough, her aunt reacted negatively to the prices she set.
So there's this whole heated exchange about that.
The other members of their family were also ganging up on them, too, because of the prices.
